Explore Chloe Gosselin’s Debut Resort Collection
It was inspired by a conversation about mermaids.
The collection features a creamy lemon linen, candy pink stripes and garnet gingham, vibrant textiles that imbue classic silhouettes with a playful spirit — and would look right at home in Musha Cay, Bahamas, where Chloe and her family get away from it all.
Inspirations for resort take a lead from the beauty of nature, vintage fashion, and the way women wear vibrant hues in their everyday lives.
“It is a true Cruise collection, with pops of color and linen fabrics, its vibrancy and materials recall the sea and its shore,” Chloe says. “The theme was sparked by a conversation with a dear friend about mermaids and how they have to give up their voice to have legs. I’ve imagined this army of sirenas, united and strong, conquering the world without losing their femininity and playfulness.”
Unexpected color-blocking combinations like navy and copper, or red and violet, shed a fresh light on classic silhouettes, while a new hand-painted bamboo buckle and an almond toe lend a vintage aesthetic.
The ruching of the past two seasons takes new form in the elasticated upper of a mule, and of course, no collection is complete without Chloe’s most distinctive signature, the crescent moon; a symbol of femininity and fertility, it also mirrors the shape of her initial, “C”. For Resort ’19, it reappears in her curved block heel, which leaves a moon-shaped print.
Like all of Chloe Gosselin’s designs, each shoe from the resort collection is designed in her Nevada studio and handmade in a factory a few miles outside of Milan, Italy. Click on the images to shop, or check out the full collection online at Farfetch.com.
